About marine weather
At sea along the Norwegian coast
The marine forecast shows sea temperature, significant wave height and surface current from the wave and ocean models of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. The wave height is the "significant wave height" (the average of the highest third) — individual waves can be considerably higher. Wave direction is given as the direction the waves come FROM, while current direction is the direction the current goes TO. Always check the coastal radio messages and warnings before setting out. See also Warnings for gale, storm and high waves.
